Aga Khan celebrates 50 years of success in racing - TelegraphThis may be the first sight of the winner of the 2014 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

This beautiful portrait of the unbeaten 2008 Arc winner Zarkava and her foal by Dalakhani, another winner of France’s top race, captures the look of a champion, and possibly, a future one too.

The study of the brilliant Zarkava and her daughter can be found on the front cover of A Racing and Breeding Tradition, The Horses of the Aga Khan, written by Philip Jodidio, a commissioned work to celebrate the legendary owner-breeder’s fifty years in racing.

It is a magnificent volume, beautifully photographed, with the detailed story of the Aga Khan’s family history and its ongoing commitment to racing.
