The Rotary Club of West Vancouver sponsored Emma Rahemtulla age 15 of Mulgrave School to a Leadership Camp at Lakelse, British Columbia.
Emma was given the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) to attend the camp in July 2011 with all expenses paid.
Awards are based not only on academic standing but also on demonstated contribution and leadership benefiting the community.
The RYLA camp emphasises Leadership, Citizenship and personal growth and provides an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders.
The attendees learn to solve problems and build leadership skills.
It recognises publicly young people who are rendering service to their community.
