The UCSF Medal, initiated in 1975, replaces the granting of honorary degrees and is the most prestigious campus award of University of California, San Francisco . The recipients are honored at annual Founders Day Banquet in the spring.
The UCSF Medal is bestowed on individuals who have attained preeminence in an area that is in support of UCSF’s mission. Following are the 2011 UCSF Medal recipients:
His Highness the Aga Khan, 49th hereditary Imam (spiritual leader) of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, Founder and Chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network, and Chancellor of the Aga Khan University
Dr. Elizabeth Blackburn, Nobel Laureate and Morris Herzstein Endowed Chair in Biology and Physiology in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at UCSF
Dr. Marvin H. Sleisenger, Emeritus Professor of Medicine and Distinguished Physician, Department of Veterans Affairs.

I personally think that any words that i may utter in his praise will surely be an understatement to describe this entity and their achievements.
Imagine if the world’s political leaders decided to do even a little bit for their populace during their terms! My God, this world would become heaven on earth, truly!
