Message from Tahereh Sheerazie

Tahereh SheerazieMahera’s documentary ‘Garden in Shigar’ made it to the finalist round in two categories

  • Documentary awards
  • Audience choice awards

It is one of several films that will be screened during the three day festival at the Los Angeles Film School Hollywood March 16 -19. The is the only film from Pakistan. Awards will be announced at the closing ceremony on sat March 19

I have been asked to participate in a round table discussion with WVN CEO Catinca Tabacaru, after the screening of the film. Sitting in for the film maker Mahera, the five Shigri girls and all the people of Shigar with whom I interacted and whose lives touched mine in remarkable ways.

Please look at the attached schedule for timing and other details. Screenings are free but reservations are required, and a donation is requested.

I hope that those of you who are in Los Angeles will be able to attend this closing screening and give this small effort its very large due. Mahera’s generous offer to use the award money towards starting to build the garden is a possibility I look forward to finding out, with many of you in the audience.

Thank you all for making it possible. Warm regards
Tahereh Sheerazie
