Gulf Times – Seminar on Islamic architecture

Architecture and Urban Planning Department of Qatar University’s College of Engineering and Agha Khan Award for Architecture will organise an international seminar on November 25 at Grand Hyatt Hotel, local daily Arrayah has reported.

The seminar, in connection with the 11th session of the Agha Khan Award, would discuss the present architecture discourse in the Islamic societies and architecture and Islamic art through lectures by renowned professors from Harvard and Princeton universities in the US.

Documentary films will be shown during the seminar in addition to the discussions run by academics and architects.

The themes in the seminar include institution, housing, industry, preservation of environment, and knowledge (education and learning).

The seminar is open to academics, professionals and students in the field of Islamic architecture, art, design, culture, civilisation and development.
