Mohezin Tejani: In search of home – Hindustan Times

It’s misleading to describe this book as a memoir of one community’s exodus. While that event does form the catalyst to all that follows, the book is at the core a globetrotting memoir of one man’s search for a place that he can call home.

Author Mohezin Tejani, an Ismaili Muslim of Indian origin, is among the 60,000 Asians who were evicted from Uganda under Idi Amin’s rule. Thereafter begins his 30-year quest across five continents — working with NGOs, learning new languages, meeting fellow travellers and being part of important historical events — in a bid to discard his cultural baggage.
