Ranee Premji joins Vancouver Whitecaps women’s soccer team

PROFILE
Premji, 18, is an exciting new addition to the Whitecaps women’s team. The native of Calgary, Alberta, currently plays for legendary head coach Anson Dorrance at the University of North Carolina.

INTERNATIONAL
Since 2008, Premji has had call-ups to train with the Canadian U-17 and U-20 national team squads.

COLLEGE
Although Premji was primarily a reserve with the Tar Heels, she made 13 appearances as a substitute and started in one match as a freshman in 2009, recording four assists in the process.

YOUTH/AMATEUR
Before joining the Tar Heels, Premji won 11 Calgary city championship titles, five Alberta provincial titles, and a bronze and silver medal at the Canadian Club Championships with Premiers 90 FC of the Calgary South West United Soccer Association. She also earned a silver medal at the Canadian U-16 All-Star Championship with the Alberta provincial team, and won a women’s soccer gold medal for her province at the 2007 Western Canada Summer Games in Strathcona County, Alberta.
