OTTAWA- The guessing game is finally over.
Now we know who Canada’s next governor-general will be.
Academic David Johnston, 69, will replace Canada’s current Governor-General Michaelle Jean when she completes her term this fall.
The traditional term for the Queen’s representative in Canada is five years.
The former Governor-General Adrienne Clarkson served a sixth year.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Johnston represents the “best of Canada.”
No can deny this.
Johnston has a squeaky clean background in securities regulation and corporate law.
