CALGARY – The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth is kicking off with a bang, using pyrotechnics for the first time during Friday’s opening parade.
Darcie Erhardt, parade volunteer media coordinator, said it’s a secret as to what’s in store for the crowd.
“It’s very exciting for us and going to be great visuals,” she added.
About 750 horses and almost 3,000 people signed on to entertain the masses at Friday’s 98th Annual Stampede parade. Among them – parade marshals Jet and Cord McCoy from the CBS show “The Amazing Race”, Canadian Olympic athletes and the Calgary Police and Fire departments – celebrating 125 years of service.
