(dated) Coastweek– Nurses at Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi, held activities to mark the International Nurses Day. Under the theme “Delivering Quality, Serving Communities: Nurses Leading Chronic Care”, the day was celebrated by over 11 million nurses worldwide to commemorate the birth of Florence Nightingale the founder of nursing.
Florence Nightingale is renowned for improving sanitation and medical procedures in army hospitals and dramatically reducing the mortality rate during the Crimean War of 1854.
Nurses at the Aga Khan University Hospital , Nairobi marked the International Nurses Day by visiting and donating sanitary towels, soap, tooth paste and brushes to the students of Our Lady of Fatima Day Secondary School in Korogocho. – More –
