-Excerpt- For the 13th year, Child & Youth Friendly Ottawa (CAYFO) is proud to host the Spirit of the Capital Youth Awards. The Spirit Awards Night is an annual gala that celebrates the extraordinary achievements of youth who are making the community, and the world, a better place. Awards are presented in eight categories to reflect many different areas of excellence, and to promote a more positive image of youth within the community.
This year’s Young Athlete Award (runner’s up) was received by Moiz Lakhani (age 8). He received his award and $250 bursary from Child & Youth Friendly Ottawa (CAYFO) and the Spirit of the Capital Youth Awards Committee on May 31, 2010 at Marriott Hotel Downtown Ottawa, he also received :
- Certificate of recognitions from (House Of Commons Canada) Pierre Poilievre, M.P Nepean Carleton (Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister) on behalf of the Prime Minister, The Parliament of Canada
- Certificate of recognitions from (House Of Commons Canada) Paul Dewar, Member of Parliament
- Certificate of recognitions from Yasir Naqvi MPP Ottawa Centre
