Here’s an article I wrote in March while in Nairobi for the Asian-oriented magazine AwaaZ about the late Ugandan-Asian cricket hero Abdulrasool Guste. A longer version is in my book.
The “commentary” mimicks the great John Arlott (the voice of English cricket/the voice of English summer). Hence his picture. Where “he” says, “And what do you say on an occasion like this…” those were his words when Bradman was dismissed for nought in his last innings, thus depriving him of ending his test career with an average of 3 figures. Tendulkar is in the 50s.
