  1. Wakhi language is spoken in Gojal-Hunza, some part of Ghizer, Chithral, Wakhan corridor of Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Xingjian province of China. They all are minor ethic group and are Ismailies. This is not written language. So, for the first time this blog is launch for all Wakhis to learn Wakhi scripts.

Thanks to Isamilimail for sharing this blog with its reader

    1. Thank you Sharif for your remark and for raising some important critical questions.
The script we have introduced here is not our own creation; it is introduced by Lorimer, D. L. R. 1958 (see link for detail) http://www.language-archives.org/language/wbl later on Wakhi Tajik Cultural Association Pakistan also encouraged to use this script as well along with Arabic scripts. That’s why they have arranged several workshops on it which I also attended. Where I learnt these are international phonetics. Now, I felt that Wakh educated youth are all around the world and they can easily communicate with each other through this script so, I have introduced it though this blog. I am very optimist that after having familiarized with this script people from the countries may build consensus for uniformity. Although it is tough job but at least we have to do something.
The Wakhi language is in endanger according to UNO report and still if we argue for the script we will be too late to save our language. For population detail see link http://wtcap.wordpress.com/
      With regards
      Rahim Khan
