Karim Mitha: A taste for apps

Ottawa inventors are coming up with cellphone applications for everything from restaurant specials to OC Transpo schedules, writes Vito Pilieci.

Karim Mitha has always been on the lookout for a good deal.

Whether it be electronics, groceries or even menu items at a restaurant, the former University of Waterloo student likes to be frugal. “Especially being a student, the bar or restaurant you went to that night was the one offering the specials,” he said.

The thing was, the more Mitha looked around, the more like-minded bargain hunters he found.
