Najeeb JOYA lives up to his name which means “researcher”, as his own search to bringing new forms of music for Afghans and Persians cultures.
The voice of Najeeb JOYA, born in Kabul, Afghanistan, migrated to Pakistan in 1996. While attending in his school choir in 1999 which inspired JOYA to take classes under the tutelage of well known vocal teacher Ustad Saleem Khan.
In 2002, JOYA moved to Canada, along with his musical journey, Joya’s interests started to change as he found himself more and more interested in a variety of musical genres including R&B, Hip Hop, and Reggae.
Najeeb has a great voice and a great gift.
I have heard him perform at Darkhana Social Hall and at the “Nur: Light-The Essence” visual art show presented by the Ismaili Council for B.C. at the Roundhouse Community Centre. His contribution enriches the diversity of our frontierless brotherhood.
