Farrokh Derakshani is the Director for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. Established in 1977, the Award seeks to indentify and encourage building concepts that successfully address the needs and aspirations of societies in which Muslims have a significant presence. The award is given every three years to projects that set new standards of excellence in architecture, urban or regional design, conservation and landscape architecture. In this lecture, Dr. Derakshani will present the work of past recipients as well as other projects that the Aga Khan Development Network supports.
