Shoukat Dedhar, PhD
Shoukat Dedhar has followed many different pathways. His life journey and passion for science can be traced all the way back to Kenya, where he was born. During his high school years in Nairobi, a science teacher introduced him to the emerging world of molecular biology and genetics. This encounter was pivotal for the young man, so inspiring it took him from the Kenyan highlands and his hometown of Eldoret, to Aberdeen, Scotland, where he found a university biochemistry program that aligned with his expectations. He then followed his family’s path, joining his parents in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he earned his Master’s and PhD degrees in pathology.
