South African Music Archive Project: Swahili geets from 1952 by Allidina Jamal Walji Luvungivalla

The South African Music Archive Project aims to create an online resource on South African music and associated cultural heritage. Included in its International Library of African Music are several Swahili geets by Allidina Jamal Walji Luvungivalla which were recorded in Costermansville/Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1952. The geets are titled: Ah ume kamatiwa; Kwimbho ya Imam wetu (Song of our Imam); Kwimbho ya isah mashiya leo; Kwimbho ya mpenzi wetu (Song of our Beloved); Kwimbho ya Nooran Mubbin (Song of Noorun Mubin); Kwimbho ya nota ya Kutu; Kwimbho ya Sifu ya Imam (Song in Praise of our Imam); Kwimbho ya zilsile ya Imamat; and Mubarak-Mubarak Imam e Zaman.
