Canada’s Haiti-born Gov. Gen. Michaelle Jean and VANOC’s Irish native CEO John Furlong have more in common than their involvement in the 2010 Winter Olympics’ opening ceremony.
They found peace in Canada after leaving islands historically burdened by internal strife. On Monday they launched the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Truce campaign at a youth dialogue on peace in the Ismaili Centre Burnaby.
