  1. Just to point out that a CBE (commander of the British Empire) is
different to the OBE (officer of the British Empire).
The CBE is higher than the OBE.
Perhaps the headline does not reflect this correctly, and should
read as: Rumi Verjee received the CBE.

  2. Beloveds:
For those who are curious, Rumi is the son of the late Jimmy Verjee who served the Imam in Kenya in various capacities. Rumi has a law degree. He has been a successful entrepreneur in the UK. He is Jimmy’s youngest son.
    Love, light and shadow,
    Jalaledin

  3. Congratulations to Rumi on his CBE (Commander). There were some pictures being circulated of his investiture dinner at his Thomas Goode, Mayfair, store. On his internet site it says among his customers are Elton John and the Aga Khan himself – or did I hear it through the grapevine? Jimmy Verjee and his uncle BKS Verjee are revered in Uganda for their contributions to Ismailia education. They figure in my book on Ugandan Asians forthcoming in March 2010. Also Rumi.
