Greetings. This is Bilaal Rajan, from Richmond Hill, Ontario. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean, Governor General of Canada, for inviting me to be a participant in the Order of Canada Mentorship Program. For the first time this year, 25 young Canadians were matched with members of the Order of Canada, who act(ed) as their mentors and provide(d) them with guidance and support throughout a 12-month period.
Not only did the program give me the chance to take part in some unforgettable activities, but my mentor, Craig Kielburger, founder of Free the Children, as well as the Governor General herself, have been an incredible inspiration to me.
