MICROSOFT magnate Bill Gates and his wife Melinda were among the illustrious names who received honorary degrees from Cambridge University yesterday.
Others on the list included Prince Karim al-Hussaini Aga Khan, the 49th and current Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, who became a Doctor of Divinity for his work in promoting healthcare and education in developing countries, and Liberal Democrat politician Baroness Williams of Crosby, who became an honorary Doctor of Law for her work as “a tireless champion of liberty and human rights”.
