Cher-Wen visits Mombasa and the Mombasa Aga Khan Academy
-excerpt-
Will and I spent Friday with a fellow Obie, Mike Fry, who is spending his Winter Term holding Jump Rope WOrkshops in Tanzania and Kenya. Truly a talented guy, and the Aga Khan Academy blew my mind. I’ve never seen any school like it in Kenya, or the States, for that matter. It was built from spotless white stone, in a beautiful complex, with more than just the feel of a multi-million dollar endeavor. It runs an IB program, and is the first of many academies set to be built in developing countries around the world to attract the brightest young leaders from around the world and give them the tools to change their countries’ futures.
