Hermann Square and Tranquility Park for the 24th Annual Waste Management Superfeast, a free Thanksgiving meal for those without means or simply those individuals without a place to go for the holiday.

Two Sugar Land teens — Farah Ladha, 17 and Alysa Punjwani, 13 — spent their time handing out cake to those in line or finishing their meals at picnic tables.

For Punjwani, it was her second year to volunteer at Superfeast.

“I came back because I felt like I made a real difference,” she said. “I didn’t know there were so many people who needed help.”

Thursday was Ladha’s first time to volunteer.

“I wanted to do anything I could do to help,” she said. Both girls were part of a larger group of teens from the Youth Club at the Ismaili Religious Center in Sugar Land.

  1. Well done, Like so many other Ismaili volunteers who make seemingly impossible, possible by volunteering, and aspire “HOPE” in all communities they live in, and are guided by our Imam, Islamic Ethics, Social Conciousness and pluralism, the difference we all can make is “REAL” Once again Thank you Farah and Alysa….. Let everyday be a tnanksgiving day.
