“Strong NGO – Strong Kyrgyzstan” Conference held in Bishkek

The Association of Civil Society Support Centers with support of Aga Khan Development Network today held a national conference “Strong NGO – Strong Kyrgyzstan” dedicated to the results of organization audit conducted among non-governmental organizations in Kyrgyzstan.

Summarization of process of organizational audit of NGOs on increasing the capacity of and recognition of non-profit organizations of Kyrgyzstan is the main objective of the conference.

Questions on quality of the services provided by non-commercial organization, professionalism and competency of people working in such organization is more often raised in society. Representatives of non-profit sectors are talking about necessity of creation of generalizing characteristics of the organizations.

Starting in 2006 the Association of Civil Society Support Centers worked on creation and introduction of criteria of professionally strong NGO. Local and foreign experts in the area of organizational audit were involved in creation of criteria.

Based on the criteria of professionally strong NGO, analysis of number of nongovernmental organizations was conducted. The process of organizational audit was held in more than 20 nongovernmental organizations by organizational development specialist.

Results and processes of organizational audit, further perspectives of certification process as well as analyzing of international experience of NGO certifications will be discussed during the conference.

Procedure of certification of NGOs – the participants of the process of organizational audit, dedicated to the idea of change and increase of own potential in administrative, program and financial activities will be held during the conference.

NGOs involved in the organizational audit, specialist of organizational audit, representatives of governmental sector, business networks and donor organization will be the participants of the conference.
