Karachi: Aga Khan Community Volunteers to help manage Ramadan traffic

Community police help with Ramazan traffic. By Jamil Khan

KARACHI: The Community Police Department of the city government, which has over 1,400 officials, has come up with a special plan for Ramazan that will use its force at 87 points in the city.

The community police comprises the city government volunteers (I-Own Karachi volunteers) and the Aga Khan Community Police. The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) had established the new department in June last year, for dealing with municipal issues including the control and removal of encroachments, ensuring smooth traffic flows during peak hours and protecting the city’s citizens and infrastructure.
