mashallah. i am just wondering why named serena everywhere? why not aga khan intead of serena. like aga khan school, akhan hospital , aga khan university, aga khan academy. sorry may be this is a silly question.

The name Serena was selected by MHI after being presented with several options for names for the wildlife lodges in East Africa. It had to be a name that would be acceptable to the investment partners in all of the Tourism Promotion Services (TPS) projects as well as the consumers for which these lodges and hotels were being designed. I believe the name Serena was chosen because it captures the notion of “Serenity.”

Well i do not think in that way i think that what ever the name is given by bapa that will shine…well by building this one of this kind of hotels in those areas where is less opportunity bapa really wanna show Ali never Speaks without action to help the people …he building up the enabling environment

I am going to tajikistan in 2010 on a horse trek in the mountains. We start and end in Dushanbe. My husband and I will stay at the Serena hotel in Dushanbe. We have used this hotel on other continents. It is excellent. I am thrilled that it is being built there. i think that is a great move towards more tourism for tajikistan and a really great idea. Thanks.

for the person questioning the name, “Serena” is a chain of hotels all over the workd, especially in remote areas in Africa and Asia where people meet in a location to start a mountin climb, a horse trek, a hiking trip or a safari. There are also SERENA hotels in jungle and island areas that are parts of safaris and treks. These are fantastic hotels that are welcome oases from the arduous physical activity of the trips. The reason it is a SERENA hotel is that that is the name of the company.chain

To add a mix to the discussion Serena actually started in kenya and I think ‘serena’ also means bye bye in the local dialect the Maasai the most famous community in East Africa.
