CityNews: How You Can Beat Global Poverty

Sunday May 25, 2008 CityNews.ca Staff

Supporting international development can be as simple as walking a few blocks. At least, that’s what the Aga Khan Foundation hopes.

The group is Canada’s largest that fights global poverty, but don’t call it a charity. Instead, the foundation aims to provide skills and trades to people in impoverished countries in Asia and Africa.

CityNews Reporter Farah Nasser was at the walk Sunday, and she’ll have more on the event on CityNews at Six.

Until then, you can check out the first part of her story here, and find out why it’s so close to her heart.
