World Partnership Walk will help fight poverty

The campaign to fight poverty around the world finds its stride in Victoria Park tomorrow when Kitchener joins eight other Canadian cities in the World Partnership Walk. Registration begins at 10 a.m. by the gazebo. It’s a family event, with games and entertainment. The walk — a project of the Aga Khan Foundation Canada — raised $5 million last year. Walks have been held since 1985 and serve to remind Canadians that about half the people on Earth earn less than $3 a day.
