“Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So … get on your way” – Dr. Seuss
After seven months of planning, preparing and fundraising … the day has finally arrived. Kili, here I come!
Today I depart for Arusha, Tanzania via Minneapolis and Amsterdam. I expect to land at the Kilimanjaro International Airport on the evening of December 27.
After 32 years, I will set foot again in my birth country of Tanzania.
My family, friends, colleagues and clients generously donated $15,000 to Save the Children Canada for their HIV/AIDS program in Kenya through the AXIS Pharmacy Kilimanjaro Challenge 2007.
Hi Almoonir,
Congratulations on participating in this most worthwhile adventure and on your impending first visit to your home country Tanzania 32 years after leaving there.
In 2005 I, along with my mother, visited my old home country South Africa for the first time as well since leaving there in 1973.
Our family pharmacist from Toronto is also taking part in this same trip and we were very pleased to make a financial contribution to his campaign.
We hope to read about your experiences and see pictures both on your blog and your Facebook profile.
