Doctor accepts $12,500 award for volunteer work
Dr. Salim R. Surani of Corpus Christi is one of five recipients of the CHEST Foundation’s Humanitarian Project Development Grant Program Award presented at an awards dinner held in October in Chicago. The $12,500 grant was given on behalf of medical professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to improve the health of communities and people in need worldwide. Dr. Surani is founder and coordinator of his anti-smoking project, AntE Tobacco Education for Elementary School Children.
Nevertheless, the 12,500 dollars did go to charity.
