Um El-Soltan Shaban Mosque – restoration and conservation by Aga Khan Trust for Culture

An Egyptian Moslems prays inside Um El-Soltan Shaban at Al-Darbul Ahmar area in Historic Cairo after restoration and Conservation through Aga Khan Trust for Culture in Cairo, Egypt, 25 October 2007. The Mosque was build by Mameluk Sultan Shabaan in 1369 to dedicate it for his mother Khond Berka. The mosque will open 26 October. Um Sultan Shabaan complex consists of a school and a mosque.
