Firdos Somji

Scotiabank is pleased to announce the appointment of Firdos Somji to the position of Senior Vice-President, International Banking. In his new position, Mr. Somji will be responsible for providing business support through the Bank’s Shared Services and for the coordination and execution of operational strategies for the Bank’s Caribbean and Central American operations.

Mr. Somji joined Scotiabank in 1976 in Vancouver and has held various positions of increasing leadership and responsibility in the areas of Operations, Sales & Service and Retail Banking, both in Canada and overseas. Most recently, Mr. Somji held the position of Vice-President, Latin America Region. He holds an MBA from Dalhousie University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. Mr. Somji spends his time volunteering his services to many community organizations and has previously served as a Director of the Markham Stouffville Hospital.
