On display 170 masterpieces from the collection of Prince Aga Khan, in an exhibition curated by Sheila Canby divided into two different sections.
The first one, dedicated to the Word of God, gathering stunningly decorated Coran volumes dating from 8th to 18th century. The second, focusing on the Power of the King and recreating the great courts of Islam from the Fatmi dynasty of Egypt to Qajars of Persia, through the education of the King, poetry, literature, pastimes, hunting and riding.
Rare treasures including scrolls, carvings, paintings, pottery, wooden and metal objects and tissues from a huge area of Islam extending from China to Andalusia.
