Aga Khan University Professor presented Sitara-i-Imtiaz by Pakistan Government

Governor to confer civil awards today

KARACHI: Twenty-six persons belonging to different walks of life will be conferred civil awards at a ceremony to be held at Governor House on Pakistan Day (today). According to officials, 14 persons would be awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz, four President’s Pride of Performance Award and eight persons would be given Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad will present these awards at an impressive ceremony. The selection of personalities was made by both the governor and the chief minister on the recommendations of the authorities concerned. Those selected for Sitara-i-Imtiaz are: Yasmeen Lari for promotion of heritage, Dr Manzoor Hussain, Professor of Urology SIUT, in the field of medicine; Tanvir Jamshed (TJ) for the promotion of fashion; Prof Dr Riazul Islam, Department of General History, Karachi University; Prof Sharif Al Mujahid; Kazi Asad Abid, Chief Editor Ibrat Group of Publication; Syed Shamsul Hasan Zahid; Sohail Wajahat Hussain Siddiqui, Siemens Pakistan and Prof Abdul Ghaffar Billoo, Aga Khan University.
