Nepal is not the only country faced by such questions regarding the status of English in the national life; many third world countries have similar questions to reply. We are reminded of a similar theme set for a seminar of importance to be organized by the Aga Khan University Centre of English Language of Pakistan. Even India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and many East Asian countries are struggling with these questions in this decade. The whole of this region and also many other nations of the third world countries where English is a second or a foreign language have the same problem to face how to distribute the opportunities equally which is one step ahead of such jargons as equity and inclusion. I know the NELTA conference will try to find some directions to these crucial questions. It is a proper time to redefine the space of English for new Nepal.
