The Institute of Ismaili Studies seeks an Assistant IT Support Officer to work in our busy Information Technology & Website Unit, to start as soon as possible. This position is offered as a 10-month renewable internship.
The Unit supports the Institute’s research, teaching and administrative activities, providing day-to-day technical advice, service and support for approximately 95 on-site users. Hardware includes PCs running Windows Xp (with a few laptops and Macs) with networked photocopier/printers and a few desktop printers.
Candidates for this position should have some experience in computer support services in customer-facing roles. The ideal candidate will possess good communication and organisational skills, the ability to prioritise work and a confident approach to working with all levels of staff and students. The ability to work quickly and to deadlines is essential.
Sound technical knowledge of PC hardware/software and appropriate experience are essential. Qualifications are less important than proven experience in a similar role. The salary will range from £17,500-£20,500.
