Frankfurt debut for young author Sonia

New Delhi: Over the last five to six years, the interest among foreigners has moved beyond just India exotica and has grown to encompass a wide variety of subjects.

Authors, writing on a wide range of subjects, have captivated foreign readers, and publishers, too, are trying to sample the international palette.

One such author, whose books are making waves at the Frankfurt Book Fair, is 23-year-old Sonia Mackwani.

Sonia’s Mahabharata (4 Vol) and Ramayana Tales (2 Vol) are two books that are being received well at the exhibition. Both the books have been written keeping Western children in mind.

“Being a researcher in Metaphysics and a Psychologist, I have made a complete study of how the world, the universe is evolving, what is happening to the Earth physically and metaphysically, what are the challenges that are upcoming, the nature of human being and the creation. Thus, keeping the idealistic yet realistic panorama, I wrote the books,” Sonia told ibnlive.com.

Sonia’s career as an author began when she decided that she would serve humanity through her books.

The need to serve humanity grew in her to such an extent that she formed an NGO called Touching Lives.

Today, both her books and her three-year-old NGO focus on humanity and the importance of serving those in need.

“Both are a medium of service. I believe that my mission is to serve and I do it in every medium I can,” says Sonia.

Sonia, through her NGO, works with disables children and mental patients, collecting funds for their rehabilitation through exhibitions and plays.

Currently, Sonia is working on a fable and a couple of other titles including Bhagvad Gita for children.
