THE CONVOCATION CEREMONY, 2006
The Convocation Ceremony, 2006 is unique. At last year’s Convocation, the Chancellor of the University, His Highness the Aga Khan, announced the appointment from May 1st, 2006 of Mr. Firoz Rasul as the new President of the University to succeed Mr. Shamsh Kassim-Lakha, the first President of the University.
At this Convocation, Mr. Rasul will be formally installed as the second President of the University through an investiture ceremony during which he will be presented with a replica of the University Seal.
Cast in Silver, the replica is in a form of a medallion, which will be presented to Mr. Rasul as a symbol of presidential authority and trust.
