First, the flowers…

The IP flowers this week go to none other than His
Highness the Agha Khan, H.H. takes the bouquet not
because his businesses empires own a controlling stake
in this newspaper but because credit must be given
where it is due.

In a period where government is spending billions to
look for investors, the Agha Khan and the Ismailia
community have showed rare qualities of standing with
the people of Uganda to move this country to next
level.

From education (pre-primary, primary secondary and
tertiary education) to information through expensive
but vibrant and versatile investment in multi media
outlets like Daily Monitor, The East African, Kfm,
Monitor Business Directory and soon to be opened
Nation TV Uganda and now into the leisure industry,
Agha Khan’s interest in Uganda truly goes beyond
business interests. The opening of the Kampala Serena
Hotel is just testimony to this.
