UGANDANS may have an opportunity to own a stake in the Kampala Serena Hotel when it lists on the Uganda Securities Exchange, the chairman of Tourism Promotions Services (TPS), Prince Amyn Aga Khan, has said.

TPS is an arm of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development, which owns the Serena hotels chain.

“As soon as we have established a suitable record of profitability, we shall integrate this company into our publicly-quoted East African Tourism Promotion Services company.

We want to be quoted on the local exchange like we have done in Kenya and Tanzania,” he said during the inauguration of the hotel.

Prince Aga Khan said with the Serena lodges, the chain can offer a borderless seamless circuit covering Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania and Zanzibar
