Next Act is a new mentorship program piloting with Talk Is Free Theatre that is designed to help adults of colour aged 55+ to enter the professional theatre industry by pairing them with a professional actor mentor of all backgrounds in their respective cities.

About the Program:
We are inviting racialized community actors aged 55+ from cities across Canada who are interested in acting to apply to this new mentorship program. No professional theatre experience is required – this initiative is to provide older adults of colour a bridge into professional theatre.
Selected mentees will be paired with a trained professional theatre artist in your city for a series of in-person meet-ups, including a visit to the theatre. You will also join a national cohort of mentees and mentors for five remote sessions between February and May, covering topics such as Breaking into the Industry, Finding Opportunities, Rehearsal Room Culture, and more.
Selected mentees will receive $500 for participating in the program.
