Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived at Entebbe on the afternoon of Wednesday, 10 September. Accompanied by Princess Zahra and Prince Aly Muhammad, Hazar Imam was greeted at Entebbe International Airport by Dr Jane Aceng, Minister of Health; Arzina Kurji, President of the Ismaili Council for Uganda; and Amin Mawji, Aga Khan Development Network’s Representative to Uganda.
Hazar Imam was received at State House Entebbe by His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni and the First Lady Janet Museveni. At State House Entebbe, discussions centred on the long-standing partnership between the Ismaili Imamat and Uganda, and shared priorities for future cooperation. During the visit, Hazar Imam will attend the inauguration of the new Aga Khan University Centre in Kampala, and will grace the Uganda Jamat with didar.
