Dr. Sharmina Mawani is a lecturer in the Department of Graduate Studies and teaches on STEP and GPISH. She holds a PhD in Religious Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, an MSc in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics and a BA in Islamic History and Religion from the University of Toronto.
Dr Anjoom Mukadam is a lecturer for both STEP and GPISH at the Institute, she is also responsible for coordinating the teaching placements for STEP Trainee Teachers (STTs). Dr Mukadam received her PhD in Sociolinguistics and Master’s degree in TEFL from the University of Reading and Bachelor’s degree and P.G.C.E. in Secondary Education from King’s College, University of London. In July 2017, Dr Mukadam was awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She has taught at tertiary level both in the United Kingdom and Japan.
