MUMBAI: A unique partnership between BMC, five philanthropic organizations and one of the country’s foremost cancer surgeons will see the city’s first head & neck cancer hospital come up in Mazgaon.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will hand over its defunct Ahilyabai Holkar Maternity Hospital to the Dr Sultan Pradhan CanCare Charitable Trust to set up the 87-bedded hospital. Dr Pradhan, who used to head Tata Memorial Hospital’s head & neck cancer department, and is now with Prince Aly Khan Hospital in Mazgaon, operates at BMC’s Sion Hospital as a honorary.
