The 8th Annual G(irls)20 Summit will be held this June in Germany.

The G(irls)20 Summit, a G(irls)20 flagship program, takes place annually in the G20 host country.
Designed G20 style, the Summit brings together one delegate from each G20 country, plus a representative from the European and African Unions, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the MENA region.
G(irls)20 Summit delegates are all girls, aged 18-23.
Held in advance of the G20 Leaders’ meeting, the summit provides a unique opportunity for young female delegates from 20+ countries to make recommendations to G20 Leaders on how to increase female labor force participation – a key to economic growth – reduce poverty and increase a country’s GDP.
The G(irls)20 Summit is a response to the G20 Leader’s commitment of 2014 to create 100 million new jobs for women by 2025.
DELEGATE SELECTION In partnership with over 40 internationally recognized organizations (for profit and social profit), applicants are sought and selected based on their responses to questions that focus on leadership, analytical skills, personal triumph and their ability to create innovative solutions to the economic challenges facing the world. The selected delegates go through a yearlong program, which starts months before the Summit itself.
PRE-SUMMIT PREPARATION In the months leading up to the Summit, delegates receive extensive reading materials on issues, policies, and industries relevant to the upcoming Summit, as well as media training with coaches from Burson-Marsteller. Delegates also partake in leadership assessment training via the MyersBriggs Type Indicator (MBTI), which is provided by Norton Rose Fulbright.
DURING THE SUMMIT Delegates attend skills building workshops (entrepreneurship, financial preparedness, communications, digital literacy, leadership, etc.) participate in panel discussion with local and global experts, and then produce a communique with tangible, scalable solutions to increase female labor force participation (FLFP).. The communiqué is presented to G20 Leaders for their consideration.
Post Summit, the delegates create their own initiatives or help scale up existing programs in their communities. They are matched with mentors (female and male), in various industries to accelerate their paths. This pay it forward concept has resulted in more than 80 Ambassorled initiatives around the world.
The following will be provided to all G(irls)20 Summit Delegates
- Summit learning materials and supplies;
- Return economy air travel arrangements, from the closest international airport to the delegate’s home to Germany;
- Accommodations while in Germany (in transit accommodations to be covered by the delegate);
- Meals – breakfast, lunch, dinner and refreshments each day;
- All ground transportation while in Germany.

One of the most important aspects of the G(irls)20 Summit is to invest in the delegates in a way that encourages them to return to their community / country and find a way to economically empower girls and women at home. With new skills from their workshop experiences we are cultivating these leaders to find a platform for their own advancement and the advancement of others.
