BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – Despite the cloudy morning with a little much-needed rain, a lot of people gathered in Railroad Park Sunday morning for a good cause.
It was the annual Aga Khan Foundation Walk and Run. The goal was to raise funds and awareness for the international organization that’s working to end poverty and hunger.
The organization has a lot of backers, including state representative Jack Williams:
“They’re not just giving money to people. They’re actually improving communities providing educational opportunities, water systems. Making life healthier and training people to be self-sustaining,” Williams explained.
