
Summary
- Mahmood Hussein Ahmed was born in 1955 in Kampala, then moved to England in 1963.
- He attended Kent College, Canterbury, and went on to study law at Oxford University from 1973-1976, where he was president of the college’s law society in 1975.
- He received his MBA degree from the European Institute of Business Administration in France in 1978.
- He has worked for international law firm Clifford Chance, (previously known as Clifford Turner) in London and Paris, and Evans Dodd in London, where he continues to be a partner.
- His Highness the Aga Khan appointed him as vice president of the Ismaili Council for the UK, serving between 1993 and 1996, then as president from 1996-2002.
- He was appointed AKDN diplomatic representative in Uganda in 2006.
- Mahmood Ahmed is married to Shamin, and the couple has two grown up daughters, Safiya and Zabeen.
