Dr. Amin Kherani is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Calgary, as well as a staff physician and surgeon with Alberta Health Services. He completed most of his education at the University of Alberta, including his Bachelor of Science, Medical Degree and Residency in Ophthalmology. In 2000, he completed a medical and surgical Retinal Fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Kherani co-founded Calgary Retina Consultants in 2000, where he and his team see more than 80,000 patients each year.
In 2010, he co-founded the Southern Alberta Eye Center (SAEC) where he currently practices as a vitreoretinal surgeon. Dr. Kherani was instrumental in the development of the Residency Training Program at the University of Calgary in 2003 as the Residency Training Director and continues to remain actively involved in this educational program.
He has volunteered as the President of the University Eye Foundation since 2009.
