Salman Dostmohammad is a current graduate student studying in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at Dalhousie University.
Salman’s research paper has been recently selected in top 10 in Canada for the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) Blueprint 2020 National paper competition.
The paper is on Regulating the Sharing Economy. The sharing economy consists of companies such as Uber, AirBnB, and others. As the sharing economy is such a current and timely phenomenon, Salman is hoping that the research and the video can make a big impact on public policy.
As part of the process, IPAC is holding a video voting contest from March 16th up until April 13th. Voting on the video can occur each and every day.

Salman is the first Ismaili to be accepted into this contest and is hoping for support from the community for the votes. Votes for the video can be cast once a day, every day, until April 13th.
The winner of the video voting contest will win the Public Choice Award. Judges will also evaluate the video and the paper to determine who will be the finalist and the grand prize winners. Salman your information as stated on your video is very relevant today. The contents of your presentation were appropriate. My critique is on the delivery as presented. Some points to consider. The use of cue cards is inappropriate for a 3 minute video. It would have been much better if had memorized all of your points. Hand gestures are also very important. You mentioned policy from the ground up however your hands were up in the air it would have been better to lift the hands from the bottom to the top of your head. Being a member of the public service I like to view interesting policy points discussed. All the best.
